Welcome to our new students!
Yanis Belkady, from Quimper, France, joined us for his master’s degree after completing internships in the lab last year. He will be working on the mechanisms of local translation of messenger RNAs in axons during the development of the dopaminergic system.
Liam Osmond, from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, is joining us for a Ph.D. In collaboration with Gabriel Bossé’s lab, he will study the effects of multiple substance abuse on prenatal development using human stem cell-derived cellular models.
Amador III Simando, from Camarines Sur, Philippines, is joining us for a Ph.D. He will be working on a gene therapy aimed at directly converting astrocytes into dopaminergic neurons using focused ultrasound for non-invasive delivery.
