Last Friday marked the very first edition of our Open House on Parkinson's disease at CERVO Brain Research Center, organized in collaboration with Martin Parent and Daniel Côté's laboratories, and what a success it was!

We had the pleasure of welcoming individuals living with Parkinson's disease, their loved ones, and members of the community curious to learn more. Our teams of researchers and students organized a series of interactive stations, each highlighting a different aspect of Parkinson's disease research. From understanding the biological mechanisms of the disease, to exploring cutting-edge therapeutic approaches, to showcasing the tools and models we use in the lab, each station offered a unique window into the work being done here at CERVO.

The enthusiasm and engagement of our visitors stood out, as they appreciated learning about ongoing research, but also valued the opportunity to ask questions, share their perspectives, and connect directly with the people behind the science.

We want to emphasize that as researchers and students, we learn just as much, if not more, from the individuals living with Parkinson's disease and their loved ones. Their experiences, insights, and questions help ground our work in real-life needs and remind us why our research matters.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to making the event a success! We look forward to repeating this experience next year in April - the Parkinson's disease awareness month!
