We are excited to announce that PhD student Laura M Bevilacqua is one of the four recipients of the prestigious Brain Canada Next Gen Award in Parkinson's Disease Research from the 2025 Rising Star Trainee Award contest 🎉 This national award recognizes outstanding early-career researchers whose work shows exceptional promise in advancing brain research and innovation.

Laura's research, under the co-supervision of Dr. Caroline Ménard, focuses on the impact of blood-brain barrier integrity on non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's such as depression. Her proposal stood out for its scientific rigour and potential impact, reflecting both her dedication and the strength of the research environment that supports her.
